We Love God’s Spirit (Conference recordings)

Helen and I recently had the joy of speaking at King’s Church Eastbourne for their weekend conference, We Love God’s Spirit.

I’m a big fan of this church! We have many friends there and have visited countless times for theology and leadership training, albeit about 15 years ago! So it felt precious to be able to serve them for a weekend, and I was full of expectation for what God would do.

He didn’t disappoint.

We spoke and ministered over six sessions, all of which are available below (along with recordings of the other seminars) covering topics like worship and the manifest presence of God, the Holy Spirit and the imagination, and healing. It was wonderful to see people connect with God so deeply, and a few highlights include:

  • Powerful times of worship. It was great to be reunited with our good friend Rich Butt, who is easily one of the best worship leaders I’ve ever had the joy of working with! He leads with such sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, and his latest song Thank You Song was a real highlight of the weekend.
  • On the first evening, the talk was followed by a beautiful time of worship, including about 30 minutes where God’s presence was so close and people were experiencing it in quite unexpected ways. Multiple people reported seeing the very same vision at the exact same time; and some heard audible bird sounds, while others saw visions of birds hovering over us. It was unusual, and precious. And it set the weekend off to a great start!
  • On the Saturday morning we did an activation in which we created space for people to encounter Jesus personally and receive a word from him. Then later in the afternoon we got people prophesying over one another, and lots of people said that the word someone prophesied was the very same thing Jesus had already said to them personally that morning.
  • There were testimonies of healings from the Saturday night, some of which came in response to quite specific prophetic words. Neck pain from an old car accident, heart conditions, and even people removing hearing aids and being able to hear for the first time in decades – not yet full hearing, but the beginnings of something…
  • A good crowd of people continued worshipping through the night, finishing at 1am. (I snuck out early, being pretty exhausted at that point – but a 94 year old lady lasted to the end, and was still at church looking bright and full of life the next morning!)
  • Many people encountered God on the Sunday morning, including a young chap who gave his life to Jesus!
  • I got to bring my family along on the trip, sharing some of the teaching and ministry with Helen. It was beautiful seeing my daughter join in too, both receiving prayer and praying for others. And it was also great fun catching up with old friends, and seeing our kids reunited.
  • I was so grateful for the openness and kindness that the church and the leadership team showed towards us. They were so hospitable, so hungry for more of God, and so trusting in allowing us time and space to lead them and input into them. It’s a well-worn saying for preachers… but in this instance it truly was the case that I received as much from being with them as I gave.

So – here are the recordings. Enjoy!
